A database stores the data and it can later be used for replay and statistics enabling the port administration to take a closer look at certain incidents or making statistics on e.g. traffic patterns to evaluate if measures have to be taken.
The solution might also include a PDA version keeping the port administration up to date, regardless of whereabouts.
